This is traditionally when we pray.
A child is very sick, there is still hope,
But options running out, how can we cope?
How can we carry on? What can we say?
But if we offload hope, if we outsource
To God (who knows) to Good God, One God, whose
Power is so great that He can if He choose
Take action, save this life… or not, of course…
If, knowing, He is swayed by begging prayer
Then God is evil if He acts or not.
So chary with the mercy He could share.
People are dying, sick, or old, or shot,
And it’s already crushingly unfair.
Some people worship Him. I just cannot.
